Joseph M. Lyons (b. June 24, 1951) is a former Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing District 19 from November 1996 to 2013. Lyons serveed as Assistant Majority Leader while in office.

Lyons is an Adjunct Faculty Member at City College of Chicago, and an Adult Training and Education Manager with the Cook County Human Resources. He has previously been a Public Affairs Officer with the Regional Transportation Authority, and Supervisor of Water Operations with the Chicago Water Department.

He is a Certified Retirement Counselor with the International Foundation for Retirement Programs, and member of the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, Loyal Order of Moose, Our Lady of Victory Church, Parish Stewardship Committee, Saint Peter's Church Benefit Committee and Executive Board.[1]
