Josephine Linker Hart is an associate justice on the Arkansas Supreme Court. She was elected to this position in the Arkansas judicial primary on May 22, 2012, and her term will expire in January 2021.


Judge Hart received her undergraduate degree from Arkansas Tech University in 1965. A Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, she next served on active duty in the Far East from 1965-1968. Hart left the active military and joined the Army Reserves, achieving the rank of Colonel in the Judge Advocates Corp. She also returned to school, and received her J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law, Fayetteville, in 1971.[1]




In January, Hart announced her candidacy for an open seat on the Arkansas Supreme Court.[2] She defeated Judge Raymond Abramson in the primary election on May 22, winning 65.39% of the vote.[3][4]
