MADISON, Wisconsin: Governor Scott Walker was denied his request for an extension to review recall petition signatures. Dane County Circuit Court Judge Richard Niess turned down the two week extension request, saying the election was likely to proceed regardless. This decision follows previous rulings by Judge Niess which had already granted triple the time normally allotted to review signatures and raise challenges.[1]

The re-callers' attorney Jeremy Levinson expressed that he was satisfied with the recent decision, saying "It’s getting a little silly". The attorney representing the four senators, Joe Olson said he was disappointed with the decision but is unsure whether they will seek an appeal.[1]

The recall targets Governor Scott Walker, Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, Senator Scott Fitzgerald, Pam Galloway, Terry Moulton, and Van Wanggaard. The recall is a response triggered by a proposal last year which ended collective bargaining powers for most public workers.[1]
