Karen Sherry Brackett was a 2012 Independent candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 1st Congressional District of Tennessee.

In 2010, she ran as an Independent candidate for District 5 of the Tennessee House of Representatives.

Brackett was defeated by incumbent Phil Roe.[1] Brackett ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Tennessee's 1st District. She ran as an Independent. She faced incumbent Phil Roe (R), Alan Woodruff (D), and Michael Salyer (I) in the general election on November 6, 2012.
