Keith L.T. Wright (b. January 3, 1955) is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 70. He was first elected to the chamber in 1992. He previously served as Assistant Majority Whip from 1998-2012.

Wright is considering a run for New York's 13th Congressional District in 2014.[1]

Biography

Wright earned his M.A. from Tufts University and his J.D. from Rutgers University.[2] His professional experience includes serving as a staff member for New York City Transit Authority, as a director of the Uptown Office for Manhattan Borough President David Dinkins, as a staff member to the City's Human Resources Administrations and as Special Assistant General Counsel for the Human Resources Administration.[3]

Wright ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 70. He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on September 13, 2012. He also ran on the Working Families Party ticket. He was unchallenged in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[4][5]

Wright ran unopposed in the September 14 Democratic primary. He defeated Dexter Davis (R) in the general election on November 2. In addition to running on the Democratic ticket, he ran on the Working Familes ticket.[6]
