Knedler is running for election to the office of Ohio Secretary of State as a Libertarian. The general election takes place November 4, 2014.

To qualify for the November ballot, Knedler needed 500 write-in votes in the primary, even though the Libertarian nomination was uncontested. He appears to have succeeded, receiving 716 votes in the unofficial results.[4]

The original Libertarian candidate, Aaron Keith Harris, was disqualified by the Ohio Secretary of State after his campaign submitted too few accepted signatures.[5]
