Kim Wallin is the current Nevada Controller. She was first elected in 2006, and re-elected in 2010.[1] She was ineligible to run for a third term as Controller in 2014 due to term-limits. Wallin ran for Nevada State Treasurer but lost to Dan Schwartz (R) in the general election on November 4, 2014.

Biography

In 1984, she founded a Las Vegas-based accounting firm, D K Wallin, Ltd., and is still president of the firm. In 2006, Wallin defeated incumbent Steve Martin to become Nevada Controller.

Wallin is currently a member of the XBRL International Public Sector Work Group, a member of the AGA Partnership for Intergovernmental Management and Accountability Steering Committee and is a Director on the NASC Executive Committee.[2] (dead link)

Wallin graduated from UNLV with a degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting.[1][3]

Wallin was barred by term limits from seeking re-election in 2014, and ran for the office of Nevada Treasurer while current treasurer, Democrat Kate Marshall sought the office of Nevada Secretary of State.[4] The general election was held on November 4, 2014.[5]
