This measure sought to implement a levy at a rate of %1.50 per $1,000 of assessed property value for one year in order to pay for fire operational costs and fire fighter salaries in the district.[2]

The question on the ballot:

The Board of Commissioners of Kittitas County Fire Protection District No. 1 adopted Resolution 6-15-11a concerning a proposition to maintain operations and hire fulltime firefighters. If approved, this proposition would establish the District's regular property tax levy at $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed value to be assessed in 2011 and collected in 2012. The funds will finance improved fire protection operations, pay for fulltime paid fireghters and improve emergency medical service levels. The maximum allowable levy in 2011 shall serve as the base for subsequent levy limitations as provided in chapter 84.55 RCW, all as provided in Resolution 6-15-11a. Should this proposition be approved?[3]
