This measure sought to replace a current levy that was set to expire with a $.34 levy per $100 of assessed value, in order to help pay for services, operational and maintenance costs funded by the Board of Developmental Disabilities.[2] Proponents were trying to get this measure passed, regardless of the hard economic times they see this as they only funding for around 2,000 people in the county, people who depend on services provided through the levy. They also noted that the board had saved money where it could and were not asking for a large replacement.[3]
