Lane County Charter Amendments, 3 (May 2010)

There were three Lane County Charter Amendments on the May 18 ballot in Lane County.

All three measures were approved

The first amendment sought to create a volunteer charter review committee that will be comprised of local citizens.[1]

  • YES 44,994 (58.44%) Approveda
  • NO 31,997 (41.56%)

The second amendment sought to amend section 24 and would add state qualifications to any person who wishes to run for office, before there were just local qualifications that needed to be met.[2]

  • YES 53,463 (68.77%)Approveda
  • NO 24,281 (31.23%)

The third amendment sought to amend section 29 of the charter and will change local election laws to reflect those changes that had been made ont he state level regarding elections.[3]

  • YES 56,051 (73.16%)Approveda
  • NO 20,565 (26.84%)[4]
