The League of California Homeowners is listed as a supporter of California Proposition 99 (2008).

According to the front page of the organization's website, it offers help to homeowners who are "looking for information on how best to launch that next home remodeling project." Founded in 1993, the organization has members in 20 different states.

The founding vision of the organization was to "provide homeowners with a resource of information for home remodeling, real estate transactions and financing."

Criticism

On February 27, 2008, Jon Coupal, the president of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, criticized the supporters of Prop 99 for featuring on their website the fact that the League of California Homeowners supports their initiative. Coupal says, "While this attractive name may cause many voters to think this is a broad-based statewide homeowners organization, it is actually a corporation whose primary function is to act as a contractor referral service."

Coupal has also written that the bylaws of the League of California Homeowners state, ."..the Corporation shall not participate or intervene in any political campaign on behalf of any candidate for public office or for or against any cause or measure being submitted to the people for a vote."[1]
