A Leslie Township Fire levy Renewal measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Leslie, which is in Ingham County.

This measure sought to renew the current fire levy which is set at a rate of $.89 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further four years in order to continue to pay for fire protection services and equipment costs in the township.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the previously voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes within the Township, as reduced by the required millage rollback and which last resulted in a levy of .8917 mills ($0.8917 per $1,000 of taxable value) upon taxable real and personal property within the Township be renewed and levied for four (4) years (2013 through 2016, inclusive) for funding and defraying, in whole or in part, the cost of fire protection services and equipment for Leslie Township, which levy shall raise in the first year of levy the estimated sum of Sixty-Seven Thousand Dollars ($67,000.00)?[3]
