Linda Stender is a Democratic member of the New Jersey General Assembly, representing District 22. She was first elected to the chamber in 2001. She served as Deputy Speaker from 2006-2009.

Prior to her election to the Assembly Stender served on the Union County Board of Freeholders from 1994-2002, Mayor of the Borough of Fanwood from 1992-1995 and was a member of the Borough of Fanwood Council from 1988-1990.[1]

Biography

Stender earned her B.A. in Interdisciplinary Communications from American University.[1]

Stender won re-election in the 2013 election for New Jersey General Assembly District 22. Stender was bracketed with Gerald Green. She was unopposed in the June 4 Democratic primary. She and incumbent Gerald Green (D) defeated Jeffrey D. First (R) and John Campbell (R) in the general election, which took place on November 5, 2013.[3][4][5][6]

Stender won re-election in 2011. She and incumbent Gerald Green ran unopposed in the Democratic Primary on June 7. They then defeaated Joan Van Pelt and Jeffrey First in the November 8 general election.[7]
