Livonia City Levy Increase Measures, 2 (August 2011)
The first measure sought to increase the current police and fire levy by a rate of 1.7 mills in order to further fund police services offered in the city. Police officials noted that the increased tax would make up for the decline in property tax rates and the loss of revenue. They also noted that the city was one very safe and that maintaining services was important.
The second measure sought to increase the current senior center levy by a rate of .25 mills in order to continue to fund services at the Livonia Senior Center and the Greenmead Historical Village.
