Local Colorado election results, majority of issues approved

DENVER, Colorado: The November 1 election held in Colorado ended up with 156 measures which were covered, 85 of those measures were approved, 54.5% approval overall. There were 36 school bond and tax question on the ballots throughout the state and 26 (72.2%) of them were defeated by voters. Most of the school taxes and bonds which were defeated had asked residents for additional money and increases in taxes, most residents had voiced their reluctance beforehand at adding more taxes, this feeling was also evident in the rejection of the state measure 103 which would have increased both the state sales and income taxes. Charter amendments which were asked of voters got the highest approval, there were a total of 29 measures on the ballots and 27 (93.1%) of them were approved.
