Louisiana Amendment 5 (General) provides that the Louisiana Workers' Compensation Corporation shall no longer be exempt or prohibited from participation in any association, guaranty fund or insolvency fund authorized or required pursuant to the Insurance Code. It was on the November 7, 1999 election ballot in Louisiana where it passed, with 57% of voters in favor.

Text of measure

The language that appeared on the ballot:

To provide that, upon the extinguishment of the full faith and credit guarantee of the state, the Louisiana Workers' Compensation Corporation shall no longer be exempt or prohibited from participation in any association, guaranty fund, or insolvency fund authorized or required pursuant to the Insurance Code. To provide that the corporation's participation in the guaranty fund association shall be on a prospective basis only. To provide that the participation shall only apply to claims arising from injuries occurring after the extinguishment of the full faith and credit guarantee. [Amends Article XII, Section 8.1(F)]
