A Madison Township Police Levy Renewal measure was on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the township of Madison which is in Lake County.

This measure sought to renew the current police levy which is set at a rate of $.19 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five year in order to continue to pay for police vehicle maintenance costs as well as pay police salaries in the township.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

A renewal tax for the benefit of Madison Township Police District for the purpose of providing and maintaining motor vehicles, communications, and other equipment in operation of the Police Department, and the payment of salaries of permanent police personnel, including the payment of police employers’ contribution required under Section 742.33 of the Revised Code at a rate not exceeding 1.9 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to 19 cents for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[3]
