The Maine Pollution Abatement and Hazardous Waste Clean Up Bond Issue, also known as Bond Issue , was on the June 12, 1984 ballot in Maine as a legislatively-referred bond question, where it was approved.[1] The measure issued $15,735,000 in bonds to plan, construct and equip pollution abatement facilities and to clean up and mitigate public health and environmental threats from uncontrolled hazardous substance sites. Of the total, $12.5 million of the bonds were to go to the pollution abatement facilities with the remainder for hazardous waste clean up.[2]
