Issues

Campaign themes

2014

Augustine's website highlighted the following campaign themes:

Property Tax (Tax Relief) -

I believe that everyone in our District should be able to live in a home they can afford. As your delegate, I will push for swift legislative action providing relief for all, especially seniors on a fixed income. Did you now that you can take action right now on your property taxes? Contact me at: 301-383-8011 to talk about how.

Public Safety –

Everyone should be able to live in a community they are proud to call home. As your representative, I plan on securing additional funding for public safety through agency accountability and new legislation, specific to the safety needs of our neighborhoods, to ensure that you and your neighbors feel secure in your homes and the surrounding community.

Education –

I know the immeasurable value of a good education. I want my daughters and every student in our community to receive the best education possible. As your delegate, I want to put legislation in place that puts a priority on more money for our schools and effective programs including trades and apprenticeships.

Economic Development –

As an 11 year district resident, I know that the growth and development of our community is something that we and our neighbors want and need. Through creative legislation and agency accountability, I plan to take charge of an initiative that brings transit-oriented development inside the beltway, helping to develop new businesses and also bring family supporting jobs to community.

Code Enforcement -

Everyone should be able to live in a community they are proud to call home. As your representative, I plan on securing additional funding for better code enforcement through agency accountability and new legislation, specific to the needs of each neighborhood, ensuring that our community is kept safe and clean, allowing you and your neighbors to feel the pride for our community that we deserve.

Healthcare –

I believe that everyone in the district at-large has the right to affordable healthcare options that fit your budget. In the General Assembly, I plan to be an active voice and legislative supporter of affordable healthcare choices that benefit every constituent of District 47A.

Parks –

As an 11 year district resident, I know that the growth and development of our community is something that we and our neighbors want and need. The creation and improvement of places where we and our youth can be active is an important part of that growth. In Annapolis, I will make it a point to secure additional funding for safe and environmentally conscious parks in our neighborhoods where we can enjoy time with our family and friends.

Environment –

In our community, the need for a safe and clean environment is something we all are concerned and care about. As your delegate, through agency accountability and legislation I plan to improve the level of environmental consciousness in District 47A to ensure that we can be proud of the place we call home.

Roads & Infrastructure –

I know the value that we place on the safety and cleanliness of where we live. The roads in our community, and the entire District 47A, should be clean and properly paved, allowing us to be proud of the place we call home. As your representative, I plan on ensuring safe roads and community infrastructure through agency accountability, particularly Maryland State Highway Authority, and legislation that provides us, here inside the Beltway, the attention and resources that we deserve.[2][3]
