Marci Francisco is a Democratic member of the Kansas State Senate, representing District 2. She was first elected to the chamber in 2004. She served as Mayor of Lawrence, Kansas from 1981 to 1983 and City Commissioner from 1979 to 1983.

Biography

Francisco earned B.S. degrees in Environmental Design and Architecture from the University of Kansas in 1974 and 1977, respectively. Her professional experience includes working as an analyst for the KU Center for Sustainability.[1]

Francisco won re-election in the 2012 election for Kansas State Senate District 2. Francisco ran unopposed in the August 7 Democratic primary and defeated Ronald B. Ellis (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
