Marcia Hultman is the current interim South Dakota Secretary of Labor. She was appointed to the non partisan position to replace the retiring Pamela Roberts by Governor Dennis Daugaard (R) in September 2013 and assumed the role on October 10, 2013. She will serve until a permanent Secretary can be named.[1]


Hultman has served as South Dakota Deputy Secretary of Labor since May 2006. Prior to that she served a number of roles within the department including Public Information Officer, Director of Communications and Project Development and Director for the Division of Workforce Information.[2]

Hultman first assumed the statewide position as secretary of labor October 10, 2013.[1]



Hultman was appointed as interim South Dakota Secretary of Labor in September 2013 by Governor Dennis Daugaard (R).[1]
