Hawley ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 46. Hawley was defeated by incumbent John Carson in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012. Kevin Westphal ran unopposed in the Democratic primary.[2] The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[1][3]
