The Massachusetts Property Classification for Taxation Amendment, also known as Question 1, was on the November 7, 1978 ballot in Massachusetts as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure permitted the legislature to establish up to four classes of property that could be taxed at different rates.[1]
