Matt Hatchett is a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 150. He was first elected to the chamber in 2010.

Hatchett has served as Majority Caucus Leader since 2014. He served as Mayor Pro Tempore of Dublin, GA and on the Dublin City Council.

Biography

Hatchett earned his B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Presbyterian College. His professional experience includes owning several small businesses, including Hangers Cleaners, Bruster's Real Ice Cream, Nathan's Famous Hotdogs and Plum Alley, a women's specialty apparel store.

The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 7, 2014. Incumbent J.M. "Matt" Hatchett is unopposed in the Republican primary.[2]

Hatchett ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 150. Hatchett ran unopposed in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012. Sheikh Rahman ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[3] Hatchett defeated Sheikh Rahman in the general election.[4]
