Taegan Goddard's Political Wire, out of Washington, D.C., is reporting that Meg Whitman has donated another $15 million of her personal fortune to her race for governor of California. This brings her total contributions to $119 million, shattering the previous record for a single candidate's self-funding in a race.[1]

The previous record was set in 2009, when Michael Bloomberg spent $109 million of his own money on his re-election bid for Mayor of New York City.[2]
