Melany Barnes was a Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing the 95th District. She has served since replacing Tom Sawyer in the Fall of 2009.

Barnes ran in the 2010 election for Kansas State House District 95. Barnes was unopposed in the Democratic primary election on August 3, 2010, and was defeated by Benny L. Boman (R) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[1]
