The city of Mesa, Arizona will hold elections for mayor and city council on November 4, 2014. A primary election took place on August 26, 2014. The deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was May 28, 2014.[1]


Although this position was previously up for election in 2012, it is up again in 2014 to fill an unfinished term. Scott Smith resigned to run for Governor of Arizona on January 9, 2014.[2]


Note: The office of the mayor is currently held by Alex Finter. Following this election, Finter will return to his position on the city council representing District 2.
