The good

  • County commissioners are listed with a short bio, office address, phone number and personalized email.[1]
  • The county administrators provide an office address and general phone number.[2]
  • Meeting minutes are archived back to 2008.[3] Future agendas are listed for the county, otherwise they're included on meeting minutes.[4] Podcasts of all the 2012 meetings was also found[5], along with a schedule for future meetings.[6]
  • Budget summaries are provided back to 2007.[7]
  • Audits are provided dating back to 2002.[8]
  • Information is provided about the county's sales tax.[9] The treasurer also supplies information on fees and property taxes.[10]
  • The clerk hosts a public records database[11], and provides a fee schedule[12], office address and phone number.[13]
  • Zoning ordinances and permit applications are available online.[14]

The bad

  • Personalized emails are not provided for the county clerk or other department heads.
  • Approved contract statements are not available for vendors above $10,000.
  • If the county engaged in lobbying activities or if it is a member of lobbying associations is not disclosed. Nor is the total cost lobbying activities or membership dues for associations available.
