The Michigan Commissioner of Insurance is a state executive position in the Michigan state government.

The Commissioner serves as head of the Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation, which is responsible for regulating the state's financial industries, which includes consumer finance, financial institutions, insurance and securities.[1]

Current officeholder

The current officeholder is Ann Flood. She has served in this position since Nov. 1, 2013. Governor of Michigan Rick Snyder (R) tapped Flood to replace commissioner Kevin Clinton, whom Snyder had appointed state treasurer following the abrupt resignation of former treasurer Andy Dillon in October 2013.[2][3]

The Department of Insurance is established in the Michigan Compiled Laws.
