Mick Cornett (b. July 16, 1958) is the current Mayor of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was first elected in 2004.[1]

Cornett won a fourth term in office in 2014.[2][3]

Before becoming mayor, Cornett served on the Oklahoma City City Council from 2001-2004.[1]

Biography

Cornett holds a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma and an M.B.A. from the New York University Stern School of Business. His professional experience includes working as a journalist.[1]

Incumbent Mick Cornett defeated challengers Ed Shadid, Joe Sarge Nelson and Phil Hughes in the March 4, 2014 mayoral election. Because Cornett won with over 50 percent of the vote, a runoff election was not necessary.[4][5][6]
