Little is running on the following themes, according to his campaign website:
Why did Mike Little Join the Independent Party?
Mike was raised as a Traditional Democrat. His first marriage was to his high school sweetheart Donna Searles. This is where Mike first experienced what his mother would describe as “the other Democrats.” Donna Searles’ sister married former Governor Bob Miller – and yes, that meant being exposed to Progressive Democrats. It quickly became obvious to Mike that Traditional and Progressive Democrats were quite different. This explosive difference became evident at the 1991 Nevada Legislative session between his mother, Patricia, and Governor Miller. Mike described the difference, stating that Traditional Democrats support the ideology of President Kennedy whereas Progressive Democrats support the ideology of President Obama. They are indeed very different kinds of Democrats. Mike became a Republican in college because the GOP seemed to consist primarily of Traditional Democrats. When the RINO (Moderate) became the mainstream GOP, he left his 30-year party affiliation, and became Independent (IAP). To Mike, a Progressive Democrat and a Moderate Republican were actually the same thing. Mike says, “I just got sick and tired of the two-party tango. To me, watching the Republicans and Democrats playing together was like watching two people dancing on the deck of the Titanic, on four left feet. Like me, so many Traditional Democrats and Republicans are really looking for a party that places citizen liberties before state control.” Both Republican RINOS and Democratic Progressives are out to create a fourth branch of government, which Mike calls ‘The Administrative State’.
Mike believes that America is in a fight for its very soul. He explains, “We have the traditional three-branch constitutional republic at war with a would-be fourth branch of socialist democracy. These traditional and progressive factions can no longer co-exist.” Mike is convinced that Americans have to pick one or the other. “We have to make a choice. Individual voters have to pick which is more important: party loyalty or America. Party progressives, whether Republicans or Democrats, will choose their party and the power of big money over America. That leaves Traditional voters and Independents. These are the Americans who are in favor of putting America first. Ultimately, this could very well mean crossing party lines and voting Independent.”
Mike continues, “America is in trouble and establishment party politics is destroying the best form of government that the world has ever known. How is this happening? Through the creation of a ‘Fourth Branch of Government’, or ‘The Administrative State’.”
Why Should You Vote for Mike Little?
In the words of Mike Little: “I am the only candidate that has protected the taxpayer from government abuse – to the tune of 10 Million dollars. I understand the bigger role of Lieutenant Governor, the role of the Senate Speaker, and how to utilize this role for the benefit of the average citizen, as opposed to exclusively benefiting the establishment politicians and their establishment parties. Neither friend nor foe of Republicans or Democrats, I am Independent and I will represent the liberties of all Nevadans regardless of party, race, color, religion, wealth or age. The concepts of rights and liberties in America should not be based on majority rule by state compulsion. I understand the true nature of our defective banking system (see: Progressive Banking System and Federal Reserve). I also understand the real difference between a republic and a democracy. The only thing democratic in a republic is the electoral vote, that of the majority. However, in a republic the majority cannot violate the rights of the minority.”
