The Minnesota Compensation for Damaged Property Amendment, also known as Amendment 4, was on the November 3, 1896 ballot in Minnesota as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure required that compensation be provided for private property that is taken, destroyed or damaged for public use.
