Minnesota SOS promotes voter initiative
MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota: On Monday, May 24, 2010, Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie launched the Vote in Honor of a Veteran (VIHV) program as a continuation of his office's "commitment to promoting voter participation and honoring those who defend our democracy by serving in our armed forces." The program asks only that a voter wear a little lapel button "throughout the election season bearing the name of a military veteran that symbolizes the voter's commitment to cast a ballot to honor the sacrifices the veteran made to secure the nation's freedom, including the right to vote."
The buttons are available free of charge either through the secretary of state's website or by calling 651-201-1324.
