The measure would have prohibited courts in the state from using Sharia Law or international law when making judicial decision.
The proposal was sponsored by Rep. Don Wells.
Path to the ballot
In order to qualify for the ballot, the measure required approval by a majority of the members of each chamber of the Missouri General Assembly. As of January 12, 2012 the bill was not in queue to be heard by the General Assembly.
