The Missouri County Officials Compensation Amendment, also known as Amendment 4, was on the August 5, 1986 ballot in Missouri as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure prohibited compensation of county officials from exceeding limits provided by law or as established by the proper authority.[1][2]
