The Missouri General Assembly Compensation Amendment, also known as Issue 1, was on the November 5, 1940 ballot in Missouri as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment, where it was defeated.[1]

The measure would have fixed the salary of the general assembly at $125 per month.[2]
