The Missouri Custodian of State Funds Amendment, also known as Amendment 6, was on the August 5, 1986 ballot in Missouri as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure made the state treasurer the custodian of state funds. The measure also authorized non-state funds to be invested for the benefit of those particular funds, and authorized the investment in longer term federal obligations and in other financial institutions.[1][2]
