Campaign themes

Toryanski's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[2]

  • New Jobs
Excerpt: "Government can promote an environment of entrepreneurship and investment by offering stability and predictability to employers so they can have confidence that government will not abruptly get in the way of their productiveness and creativity."
  • Low Taxes
Excerpt: "Every agency and activity must ensure that they have a bonafide need for the peoples’ money through a rigorous bottom-up review. We can no longer afford a sense of entitlement to the peoples’ money where the only debate is about the rate of increase that an agency or activity will receive over the previous year."
  • Quality Educational Opportunities
Excerpt: "Attracting businesses with high-paying jobs depends to a large degree on the availability of an educated work force. We must find ways to get more of our education dollars into the classroom."
  • Improving Healthcare
Excerpt: "Expanding fraud-riddled Medicare and Medicaid is not the answer. Instead, unlocking health care monopolies by allowing people to purchase health insurance across state lines and transforming the marketplace so that health care providers compete in a free and transparent market will bring costs down and put patients back in control."
