Improve the Economy

  • Excerpt: "Education will be made one of my highest priorities in the Wisconsin State Assembly. I will support increased state funding for schools, holding the line on property taxes, supporting the needs of smaller rural school districts and an expansion of the Wisconsin School Choice program."

Support Families

  • Excerpt: "I wholeheartedly supported the HOPE Bills (Heroin, Opiate Prevention and Education) to combat Wisconsin’s growing heroin abuse crisis."
  • Excerpt: "I will be a strong advocate for better delivery of mental health services, greater efforts against drug trafficking and abuse, stronger efforts against domestic abuse and further protection of children and seniors."

Preserving the Sanctity of Life

  • Excerpt: "As said, by being pro-human, this also makes me pro-woman. I do not wish upon anyone to have to “choose."

Cut Taxes Further

  • Excerpt: "I support further tax reductions, which will help all local residents, especially senior citizens who are living on fixed incomes. Without action, many will not be able to afford to stay in their homes."

McGartland's campaign website highlighted the following campaign themes:[4]

  • Jobs - Supports repeal of the Combined Reporting legislation and increase business tax credits for tuition paid for an employee to attend a university, college or technical college.
  • Your Money - Supports spending cuts, halt to using the Transportation fund for other projects, and stop legislator's pay raises.
  • Education - Supports expanding the School Choice Program, Charter schools and free market solutions for education.
  • Reforming Government - Supports government transparency and accountability, eliminating "budgetary tricks" and "starting the state budget at zero."
