Montello Schools Exceed Revenue Limit (2008)

The Montello Schools Exceed Revenue Limit referendum was a school bond issue on the September 9 ballot in the Montello School District, Marquette County. The purpose of the referendum was to add to the school budget $950,000 per year for two years (totaling $1,900,000 overall) over the state revenue limit. The additional funds will be used to help maintain the school's instructional programs.

The additional funding breaks down to being approximately $150 more per year for the average homeowner.

Text of measure

Be it resolved by the Board of Education of the Montello School District of Marquette County, Wisconsin, the final School District budget shall include $950,000 each for two years, beginning with the 2008-2009 school year in excess of the revenue limit set forth in Section 121.91, Wis. Stats., on a non-recurring basis, such excess to be used to maintain instructional programs during the aforesaid school years.

Passed: 959 voted "yes" and 866 "no."[1]
