Mount Vernon School District Bond Issue Question (April 2013)
This measure authorized the Mt. Vernon School District to increase its debt by $2.5 million through issuing general obligation bonds in that amount in order to fund the construction, equipping and furnishing of a new sports complex. The debt service property tax levy is estimated to not increase but to remain unchanged at 5.7 mills ($5.7 per $1,000 of assessed valuation).

|“|| Shall the Board of Education of Mt Vernon R-V School District of Lawrence County, Missouri, without an estimated increase in the current debt service property tax levy, borrow money in the amount of Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($2,500,000), for the purpose of providing funds to complete site development in order to construct, equip and furnish a new sports complex to be located near the high school on land owned by the District including a football field, eight lane allweather track, bleachers and locker rooms for home and visitors, press box, concession stand, and restrooms; and issue bonds for the payment thereof?
If this proposition is approved, the adjusted debt service levy of the School District is estimated to remain unchanged at $0.57 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.
