Nandita Berry is the 109th Secretary of State of Texas. She took office on January 7, 2014. Berry, a Republican, was appointed to the statewide office by Governor Rick Perry on December 19, 2013. She replaced John Steen, who retired in order to return to private law practice.[1]

Biography

Berry worked as senior counsel for Locke Lord LLP prior to her appointment. She was previously the vice chair of the University of Houston Board of Regents and a board member with Houston Zoo, Inc.[2]
