The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 25, 2014. Ned Carey defeated Robert Haynes and John Moran in the Democratic primary. Terry Lynn DeGraw was unopposed in the Republican primary. Carey defeated DeGraw in the general election.[1][2]
