Neil D. Breslin (b. June 9, 1942) is a Democratic member of the New York State Senate, representing District 44. He was first elected to the chamber in 1996.

He previously represented District 46 in the New York State Senate from 1997 to 2013. Breslin also served as a committee member for the Town of Bethlehem.

Biography

Breslin attended the Vincentian Institute. He earned his B.S. in Political Science from Fordham College in 1964 and his J.D. from the University of Toledo in 1971. His professional experience includes being an associate for Garry, Cahill, and Edmunds from 1971 to 1973, a Partner for the following firms: Garry, Cahill, Edmunds, and Breslin from 1973 to 1980, Breslin, Breslin, and Breslin from 1980 to 1990 and Breslin and Breslin from 1990 to 1995. He has worked at The Breslin Firm since 1995. He is currently counsel for Girvin and Ferlazzo as well as for Hiscock and Barclay.

Breslin ran in the 2012 election for New York State Senate District 44. He defeated Shawn M. Morse in the Democratic primary on September 13, 2012; he also ran on the Working Families Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. Breslin defeated Peter A. LaVenia, Jr. (G) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1]
