Located near the West Coast of the United States, Nevada is nicknamed “the Silver State” due to the vital importance of the metal to the state’s history and economy. Although Nevada’s capital is Carson City, many Nevadans inhabit the area in and around the city of Las Vegas. Widely known for its libertarian laws towards marriage, divorce, gambling and prostitution, Nevada has become a major tourist destination in recent years.
