New Hampshire legislators end session without passing initiative legislation
By Kyle Maichle
A amendment to the New Hampshire Constitution which would allow its citizens to veto legislation of the General Court by referendum. The amendment would have allowed veto referendums with signatures coming from twenty-five percent of New Hampshire voters who casted ballots in the previous election. Also, the law would prohibited more than ten percent of the signatures coming from one Executive Council district.
The amendment died in committee without seeing an up or down vote in either house of the General Court.
