New Mexico Mid-Term Salary Increases, Amendment 2 (2008)

The Mid-Term Salary Increases Amendment appeared on the November 4, 2008 ballot in New Mexico. It was one of five proposed constitutional amendments the New Mexico Constitution that were legislatively-referred to the ballot by the New Mexico State Legislature.

The proposed amendment amended Article 10, Section 1 of the Constitution of New Mexico to allow for midterm salary increases for county officers.

Senator Nancy Rodriquez introduced Senate Joint Resolution 7 (SJR 7) which authorized placing the proposed amendment on the ballot.

This measure was defeated at the polls on November 4. See 2008 ballot measure election results.
