Santa Fe, New Mexico: Fifteen state executive positions are up for election in 2014 in the state of New Mexico. On February 4, 2014, the filing period for major party primary candidates in New Mexico for 7 state executive positions came to a close. This deadline called for "declarations of candidacy by pre-primary convention designation and nomination positions for the office of United States senator, United States representative, governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, state auditor, state treasurer, attorney general, commissioner of public lands, and judge of the Court of Appeals" to be filed on February 4th between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.[1] Declarations of candidacy and nominating petitions for public education commissioners and public regulation commissioners, as well as those not receiving pre-primary convention designation, must be filed on March 11, 2014. March 18, 2014 is the filing date for write-in candidates.[1]

The primary election is scheduled for June 3, 2014. New Mexico utilizes a strictly closed primary process, in which the selection of a party's candidates in an election is limited to registered party members.[2][3][4] Four incumbents have announced they are seeking re-election and one incumbent is retiring.
The following two incumbents are seeking election to a different statewide office:
