MONTPELIER, Vermont: A new political party - the Working Families Party - is forming in Vermont. The party has already been ballot qualified in a variety of other states, including: New York, Oregon, South Carolina, Delaware and Connecticut. The party was first founded in 1998 in the state of New York. In order to qualify in Vermont, however, the party must first show to the state that it hosts meetings in at least ten towns where five officers are election and a statewide meeting where state officers are elected. The meetings must be completed by end of 2009.
