There was a petition drive for a NorthSide Redevelopment Referendum in St. Louis City.

Residents had started to get signatures for their petition to put the NorthSide Redevelopment question to a public vote. Petitioners needed to collect 4,500 signatures by December 11 in order to get it approved but then would have needed a further 11,100 once those previous ones are verified to actually get the issue to a vote. The city Aldermen decided to allow the redevelopment without public consent, something many residents were upset about. They hoped this petition will be able to reverse their decision. There were also two court cases trying to stop this redevelopment, both are still pending.[1]
